Question by steve: What could be some challenges of starting a career as an Insurance Agent in my early 40′s? If any?
I’ve got 17 plus years of successful outside sales experience and currently considering a career change that offers residual income. Basically trying to build a business, instead of working for a company who determines my future. Particularly looking in the Insurance industry both residential and commercial. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

as with any field it is hard getting started
in commercial people will want to wait till renewals before changing any insurance
also, you will have to almost go door to door for a while getting started with commercial
You have to also establish yourself. The first two years are extremely hard.
