Question by Mrs Captain: Can I ever get home insurance again if a previous one has been cancelled?
About 1 yr ago I cancelled my DD for my home insurance to cut costs. My bank then said as I never told them directly they have refused my insurance policy and that I would find it difficult to get another policy. I am now looking to start another home insurance policy but they all ask the question if I have been refused before? What does this mean? As it is obviously important to have it as you never know what will happen.

Best answer:

Answer by veg_rose
I am sure if you told new insurance company why it was cancelled then they would disregard why it was refused…..Refusal because of building defects or bad security is what insurance companies are looking out for not for petty spite reasons put forward by a bank..

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by kent j: How does forced “pre-existing condition” insurance work?
I would like someone to explain how it works to force insurance companies to always have to accept people with pre-existing conditions. Can one liberal who understands this please exlpain it to this stupid conservative? And please explain it in the more severe cases as an example, someone who just had a car wreck being able to buy car insurance.
I sincerely want to understand this and hear an explanation from a rational supporter of this idea.
Remember to explain what actuarial tables are and what the definition of insurance is.
Thanks.

Answer by KALIMAL !!!! KALIMAL !!!!!!
They cant, its the same as forcing car companies to insure idiot drivers that wreck all the time

Question by nuwa k: What is the procedure regarding auto insurance when getting the car from dealership to home?
First time car buyer, going with a friend to buy the car from a dealership, how to get the car back to home ? I think I obviously need an auto insurance, but without knowing the vehicle registration details how to get the auto insurance before purchasing?
Hope my question is clear enough!

Best answer:

Answer by squishy
Many dealerships will suggest companies or allow you to phone them from the store. Or in some cases, allow you to shop around a couple of days and then bring the proof back in, though you may have to leave the car there while you do this. By law, most can’t allow you to leave without insurance; I would check with the dealership and see what their policy is regarding the issue. Some have insurance available there, but it is often more costly than if you shop around yourself.

Question by Sannin: Legal Studies Major, but I want a career in insurance but no major offered?
I’m currently a legal major who wants a career within the property liability section of insurance. My major is considered to be within the business school at Temple University in which I have completed numerous upper level business courses, but my main concentration is in the legal field. Do you think that the best way possible for me to break into the insurance industry for a career is by passing professional exams such as the CPCU or ARM? I figured if I passed those exams I would appeal more to an insurance company. Any thoughts or suggestions on what I should do

Best answer:

Answer by ocularnervosa
Talk to your adviser and see if its possible to set up an independent study course for a degree.

Best answer:

Answer by dakotanmisty
Well, if you are already financially stable, then its a good career choice. 99.9% of insurance sales of any type is commission pay only, and you have to do a lot of researching/cold calling/account searching on your own. SO, if you don’t need a steady paycheck, then go for it.
